You May Be Asking – How Does Website Speed Affect SEO? People ask us all the time, “Does Website Speed Affect SEO”. When an individual uses Google to search for something, they want their question answered quickly. They don’t have time to wait around on a website that takes forever to load. Instead of waiting, they’ll typically go on to the next website, meaning you’ll lose that potential customer to a competitor. How do you rank your website on Google? Is it good enough to just post content or should you be doing something else? You might not believe how much page speed affects SEO. Google’s Panda update was designed to weed out sites with thin content and poor usability, but the other side of that coin is how page speed affects SEO. Page load speed (and overall site speed) is a crucial component of user experience. When does page speed affect SEO? Google tends to reward websites with faster load times with higher rankings on its search engine. Higher rankings equal more traffic. More traffic equals more conversions. More conversions equal more revenue for your business. What is Page Speed? While it is pretty self explainatory, Page Speed is how quickly your website page completely loads onto a device, whether that’s a laptop, mobile phone, or tablet. Each page of your website can load at a variety of quickness due to several different factor including server load, network latency, amount of content, scripts, plugins, the size and number of images used on the page, just to name just a few. The New Google Snack Pack and What it Means to You For many years, when someone searched for a business or a service on their desktops, seven results would appear in what is called the “Map Pack” section. These results included addresses, phone numbers, reviews, and the company’s website. We noticed that on August 7, 2015, Google made a huge change to the “Map Pack” and this is impacting MOST businesses. You see, Google changed this set-up so that desktop users would have the same experience as mobile users. This is a HUGE change, meaning that instead of seven results appearing in the search, there will only be three. In fact, we’re calling this the “Snack Pack” in the marketing community. How This Affects You It should always be your goal to be in the “Map Pack” section of Google as this area receives much of the clicks, which results in traffic (and new customers) for those businesses showing up here. As you may have guessed, with Google reducing the number of total businesses located in this area to less than HALF of what it was before, getting to the top just became MUCH more competitive. This change made by Google means that it’s much more important to make your website stand out among the competition more than ever before. The Other Changes In addition to reducing the amount of companies that appear in the Google map pack, some of the other changes that have been incorporated into this new search update are the ways that a company in the top three (and further down in the ‘see more’...

Small businesses need to ensure that consumers find them online easily. Whether customers are looking for restaurants, drugstores or coffee shops, they almost always turn to their trusted search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo!. It is, therefore, critical for any business owner to invest in local marketing. An article written by Tim Devaney and Tom Stein for Forbes explains why: Not long ago, many people believed that small businesses could earn customers from around the U.S. simply by being on the Internet. It hasn’t exactly worked out that way. In a recent national survey by Sage North America, 74 percent of small businesses said the majority of their customers are local. In short, when consumers look to buy, they still look local—and they start by looking online. For one, people like to shop in their vicinities because it is more convenient. Less time for commute will also save a lot of money for customers, so most prefer to do their shopping in places near their homes. This, in turn, allows businesses to develop a repeat-customer base in an influence radius estimate of about 10 miles. If you’re a business owner in South Carolina, here are some ways local marketing and advertising in Greenville, SC can benefit your business: 1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) SEO allows your website to be more visible to potential customers. Get listed on local search sites like Google+, Yelp and TripAdvisor. These search sites practically serve as the modern yellow pages and will improve the organic search engine rankings of your website. 2. Increase Your Digital Presence A business must maintain a good online...

So, you’ve planned and strategized how you’d market your brand online, and now you appear to be raking in more site visitors and social media followers. These growing numbers might seem to indicate that your online marketing strategies are finally taking effect, but they don’t necessarily equate to a growth in your business. When doing internet marketing, look beyond the numbers and focus on your goal and bottom line. Remember the purpose of marketing Every business wants to acquire Greenville, SC online marketing services to boost its presence online, and rightly so. Since more people are turning to the Net to search for products and services they need, the website you would create should contain the necessary elements of a potentially engaging website, including great content, an effective marketing strategy, and a visually appealing website design. When asked about their motivation to employ internet marketing strategies, some businesses are quick to say they aim to have a strong presence online. They forget that the main point of marketing—whether online or otherwise—is to attract more people to actually buying their products and services. Needless to say, large numbers, such as an increase in website traffic, a larger e-mail list, or a hike in Facebook likes or Twitter followers, are not indicative of audience engagement. These huge numbers don’t matter if your audience don’t participate in your actual business or spread the word about your operation to people who could bring in sales. After all, numbers can be misleading, especially on the Internet, where Facebook likes can be solicited or e-mail lists are filled with leads that won’t ever be converted...
